These are challenging times for all of us. Economically, we are struggling. Emotionally, we are trying to overcome obstacles in our paths from the economic struggles.
There is not one person that I have spoken with or speak with on a daily basis that does not tell me how difficult 2009 has been for their business which only ads strain on their personal lives which in turn affects them emotionally. Many of us are seeking new avenues, new paths, looking at new ideas, and having to think out side the box to survive.
Miami is particularly difficult because of the culture and the environment which is not conducive to producing jobs. Ninety percent of the jobs in Miami-Dade County are County jobs, travel, and construction. All of those industries are getting hit hard by the economic times. People are cutting back. They are not spending. Businesses are moving out of their expensive rentals and working out of their homes. Where there were ten employees now there are seven. Cut backs are across the board. Except in the White House, but that is another issue all together.
The most important thing is to remain focused during difficult times. The challenges do seem overwhelming, however, we need to look at this as an opportunity to grow and prosper. Starting over is never easy. Starting over in a new field, new business, or new career is that much more difficult.
We need to step out of the box, in some cases, get rid of the box all together. Think fresh new ideas. Try something you have wanted to do for a long time, but never had the opportunity to try. Sit down, write on paper what your thoughts are. Dare to dream. Dare to make your dreams come true.
Will it be easy? Of course not. Will you be challenged? Of course you will. But, remember, it is only through adversity that we grow. It is during difficult and challenging times that great leaders are made.
You can be tomorrow's success story. Write down your dreams. Let's think outside the box. Let's make them happen.
E-mail me or write back. I will help you make your dreams come true. Together, we will succeed.
